Atharva Veda (Śaunaka) 1.65

एषा ते कुलपा राजन् तामु ते परि दद्मसि । ज्योक्पितृष्वासाता आ शीर्ष्णः शमोप्यात्

1.14.3 — esha te kulapa rajan tamu te pari dadmasi | jyokpitrishvasata aa shirshnah shamopyat

She is thy housekeeper, O king; we commit her to thee; she shall sit long with the Fathers, until the covering in of her head.

हे राजन्! यह तुम्हारी गृहरक्षिका (कुलपा) है; हम इसे तुम्हें सौंपते हैं। वह चिरकाल तक पितरों के पास बैठी रहे, जब तक उसके सिर का आच्छादन न हो जाए।
