Atharva Veda (Śaunaka) 1.94

अपेन्द्र द्विषतो मनोऽप जिज्यासतो वधम् । वि महच्छर्म यच्छ वरीयो यावया वधम्

1.21.4 — apendra dvishato mano'pa jijyasato vadham | vi mahachchharma yachchha variyo yavaya vadham

Off, O Indra, the mind of the hater, off the deadly weapon of him that would scathe; extend great protection; keep very far off the deadly weapon.

हे इन्द्र! द्वेषी के मनोबल को दूर करो, हानि पहुँचाने वाले के शस्त्र को दूर करो। विशाल रक्षा-कवच फैलाओ; घातक शस्त्र को बहुत दूर हटाओ।
