Brahma Sutras 4.17

जीवमुख्यप्राणलिङ्गान्नेति चेदात्मविधानात् ॥

jiva-mukhya-prana-lingan na iti ched atma-vidhanat

If it be said that Brahman is not meant because of the marks of the individual self and prana, we say no, because of the injunction about the Self.

यदि [ब्रह्म नहीं है] क्योंकि [वहाँ] जीव और मुख्य-प्राण के चिह्न हैं — तो नहीं, [क्योंकि] आत्मा (= ब्रह्म) का विधान (निर्देश) होने से ॥
