Brahma Sutras 5.7

असदिति चेन्न प्रतिषेधमात्रत्वात् ॥

asad iti chen na pratishedha-matratvat

If it be said that the effect is non-existent before creation, we say no, because the negation is merely of the manifest form.

यदि [कहो कि] "सृष्टि से पूर्व [कार्य] असत् था" — [तो उत्तर है] नहीं, क्योंकि [वह] केवल [व्यक्त-रूप का] निषेध-मात्र है ॥
