Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.18

अथ ह मन आभ्यवदन् — त्वं न उद्गायेति । तथेति तेभ्यो मन उदगायत् — यो मनसि भोगस्तं देवेभ्य आगायत् यत्कल्याणं सङ्कल्पयति तदात्मने ॥

atha ha mana abhyavadan — tvam na udgayeti | tatheti tebhyo mana udagayat | yo manasi bhogas tam devebhya agayat yat kalyanam sankalpayati tad atmane ||

Then the gods said to the Mind: 'Chant the Udgitha for us.' 'So be it,' said the Mind, and chanted for them. Whatever enjoyment is in the mind, it obtained for the gods; whatever good it thinks, it obtained for itself.

तब देवताओं ने मन से कहा: 'हमारे लिए उद्गान करो।' 'ठीक है' कहकर मन ने उद्गान किया। मन में जो भोग था, देवताओं के लिए गाया; जो कल्याण मन संकल्पित करता है, वह अपने लिए।
