Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.25

स वा एष देवश्चक्षुषः पाप्मानमपहत्य — यत्रासौ चक्षुषो अन्तस्तं मृत्यवे प्रायच्छत् । तत एनां प्राणो अतिमृत्युमतिनयत् — एवं श्रोत्रस्य — एवं मनसः ॥

sa va esha devash chakshusah papmanam apahatya — yatraasau chakshusho antas tam mrityave prayachchhat | tata enam prano atimrityum atinayat — evam shrotrasya — evam manasah ||

This deity, having driven off the evil of the Eye, carried it beyond the horizon. Then Prana led it past death. Likewise with the Ear — likewise with the Mind.

उस देव ने चक्षु के पाप को हटाकर — जहाँ चक्षु की अन्तिम सीमा है — मृत्यु को सौंप दिया। तब प्राण ने उसे मृत्यु से परे ले गया। इसी प्रकार श्रोत्र के लिए — इसी प्रकार मन के लिए।
