Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.45

तदेतदाहुः — अमुं यज अमुं यजेत्येकैकं देवम् — एतस्यैव सा सर्वा सृष्टिः — एष उ ह्येव सर्वे देवाः । अथ यत्किंचेदमार्द्रम् — तद्रेतसोऽसृजत — तदु सोमः — एतावद्वा इदं सर्वम् — अन्नं चैवान्नादश्च — सोम एवान्नमग्निरन्नादः ॥

tad etad ahuh — amum yaja amum yajety ekaikam devam — etasyaiva sa sarva srishthih — esha u hy eva sarve devah | atha yat kimched idam ardram — tad retaso'srijata — tad u somah — etavad va idam sarvam — annam chaivannnadash cha — soma evannam agnir annadah ||

When they say: 'Sacrifice to this god, sacrifice to that god' — each god is but his projection, for he is all the gods. Now whatever is liquid he created from seed, and that is Soma. This universe is indeed just food and the eater of food. Soma is food; fire is the eater of food.

इसीलिए कहते हैं: 'इस देव को यज, उस देव को यज' — प्रत्येक देव उसी की सृष्टि है; वही सब देव हैं। जो कुछ भी आर्द्र है — वह रेतस् से सृजित किया — वही सोम है। यह सम्पूर्ण जगत् बस अन्न और अन्नभक्षक है — सोम अन्न है, अग्नि अन्नभक्षक है।
