Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 1.46

सैषा ब्रह्मणोऽतिसृष्टिः — यच्छ्रेयसो देवानसृजत — अथ यन्मर्त्यः सन्नमृतानसृजत — तस्मादतिसृष्टिः — अतिसृष्ट्यां हास्यैतस्यां भवति य एवं वेद ॥

saisha brahmano'tisrishtih — yach chhreyaso devan asrijata — atha yan martyah sann amritan asrijata — tasmad atisrishtih — atisrishtyam hasyaitasyam bhavati ya evam veda ||

This is the super-creation of Brahman — that he, though mortal himself, created the gods who are superior, and being mortal created the immortals. Therefore it is a super-creation. He who knows this becomes a creator in this super-creation.

यही ब्रह्म की अतिसृष्टि है — कि वह मर्त्य होते हुए भी उससे श्रेष्ठ अमर देवों को सृजित किया। इसीलिए यह अतिसृष्टि है। जो इस प्रकार जानता है, वह इस अतिसृष्टि में सृजक बन जाता है।
