Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 2.21

स यथोर्णनाभिस्तन्तुनोच्चरेत् यथाग्नेः क्षुद्रा विस्फुलिङ्गा व्युच्चरन्ति एवमेवास्मादात्मनः सर्वे प्राणाः सर्वे लोकाः सर्वे देवाः सर्वाणि भूतानि व्युच्चरन्ति | तस्योपनिषत् सत्यस्य सत्यमिति | प्राणा वै सत्यं तेषामेष सत्यम् ॥

sa yathornanabhis tantunoch charet yathagneh kshudra visphulingaa vyuchchharanti evam evasmaad atmanah sarve praanah sarve lokah sarve devah sarvani bhutani vyuchchharanti | tasyopanishat satyasya satyam iti | prana vai satyam tesham esha satyam ||

As a spider sends forth its thread, as small sparks come forth from a fire, so from this Self come forth all vital breaths, all worlds, all gods, all beings. Its secret name (upanishad) is 'the Truth of truth.' The vital breaths are truth, and the Self is the truth of them.

जैसे मकड़ी अपने तन्तु से ऊपर उठती है, जैसे अग्नि से छोटी-छोटी चिनगारियाँ निकलती हैं — वैसे ही इस आत्मा से सब प्राण, सब लोक, सब देव, सब भूत उत्पन्न होते हैं। उसकी उपनिषद् (रहस्य-नाम) है: 'सत्यस्य सत्यम्।' प्राण सत्य है और वह प्राणों का भी सत्य है।
