Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 3.49

सा होवाच | याज्ञवल्क्य यद्ऊर्ध्वं दिवः यदवाक्पृथिव्या यदन्तरा द्यावापृथिवी इमे यद्भूतं च भवच्च भविष्यच्चेत्याचक्षते कस्मिंस्तदोतं च प्रोतं चेति ॥

sa hovacha | yajnavalkya yad urdhvam divah yad avak prithivya yad antara dyavaprithivi ime yad bhutam cha bhavach cha bhavishyach chety achakshate kasmims tad otam cha protam cheti ||

She said: 'Yajnavalkya, that which is above heaven, that which is below the earth, that which is between heaven and earth — that which they call the past, the present, and the future — in what is all that woven, warp and woof?'

उन्होंने कहा — 'याज्ञवल्क्य! जो द्युलोक के ऊपर है, जो पृथिवी के नीचे है, जो द्यावा-पृथिवी के बीच है, और जिसे लोग भूत, वर्तमान और भविष्य कहते हैं — वह सब किसमें ओत-प्रोत है?'
