Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 3.5

केन यजमान उद्गातुराप्तिमतिमुच्यत इति | उद्गात्रा प्राणेन वायुना | प्राणो वै यज्ञस्योद्गाता | तद्यो अयं प्राणः स वायुः स उद्गाता सा मुक्तिः साऽतिमुक्तिः ॥

kena yajamana udgatuh aptim atimuchyata iti | udgatra pranena vayuna | prano vai yajnasyodgata | tad yo ayam pranah sa vayuh sa udgata sa muktih sa'timuktih ||

'By what means does the sacrificer free himself from the reach of the udgatri priest?' 'By the udgatri, by the breath, by the wind. The breath is indeed the udgatri of the sacrifice. That which is this breath is this wind, is the udgatri, is liberation, is complete liberation.'

'किस उपाय से यजमान उद्गाता की पकड़ से छूटकर ऊपर उठता है?' 'उद्गाता के द्वारा, प्राण के द्वारा, वायु के द्वारा। प्राण ही यज्ञ का उद्गाता है। यह जो प्राण है — वही वायु है, वही उद्गाता है, वही मुक्ति है, वही अतिमुक्ति है।'
