Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.41

तदेष श्लोको भवति — तदेव सक्तः सह कर्मणैति लिङ्गं मनो यत्र निषक्तमस्य प्राप्यान्तं कर्मणः तस्य यत्किञ्चेह करोत्ययम् तस्माल्लोकात्पुनरैत्यस्मै लोकाय कर्मण इति ॥

tadesha shloko bhavati — tadeva saktah saha karmanaiiti lingam mano yatra nishaktam asya praapyaantam karmanah tasya yatkinchha karoty ayam tasmaallokaat punar aity asmai lokaaya karmana iti

On this there is this verse: 'Being attached, together with his deeds, the subtle body goes to wherever his mind is attached. Having exhausted the results of whatever actions he performed in this life, he returns from that world to this world, for further action.'

इस विषय में यह श्लोक है — 'आसक्त पुरुष अपने कर्मों के साथ ही, जिस लिङ्ग-शरीर पर मन आसक्त हो, वहीं तक जाता है। यहाँ जो भी कर्म करता है, उसके फल को भोगकर, वह उस लोक से इस लोक में पुनः कर्म के लिए लौट आता है।'
