Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 5.18

उक्थम्; प्राणो वा उक्थम्, प्राणो हीदं सर्वमुत्थापयति; उद्धास्माधस्मादुक्थविद्वीरस्तिष्ठति, उक्थस्य सायुज्यं सलोकतां जयति, य एवं वेद ॥

uktham; praano vaa uktham, praano hiidam sarvamutthaapayati; uddhaasmaadhasmaadukthavid viirastishthati, ukthasya saayujyam salokataam jayati, ya evam veda

One should meditate upon the vital force as the Uktha (hymn of praise). The vital force is the Uktha, for it raises up this entire universe. From one who knows this rises a son who is a knower of the Uktha, and one achieves union with and abode in the same world as the Uktha.

उक्थ — प्राण ही उक्थ है, क्योंकि प्राण ही इस सबको ऊपर उठाता है। जो ऐसा जानता है, उसके कुल में उक्थवेत्ता वीर पुत्र उत्पन्न होता है, और वह उक्थ के साथ सायुज्य तथा सलोकता प्राप्त करता है।
