Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 5.8

तद्यत्तत्सत्यमसौ स आदित्यः—य एष एतस्मिन्मण्डले पुरुषः, यश्चायं दक्शिणेऽक्शन्पुरुषः; तावेतावन्योन्यस्मिन् प्रतिष्ठितौ; रश्मिभिरेषोऽस्मिन्प्रतिष्ठितः, प्राणैरयममुष्मिन्; स यदोत्क्रमिष्यन्भवति शुद्धमेवैतन्मण्डलं पश्यति; नैनमेते रश्मयः प्रत्यायन्ति ॥

tadyattatsatyamasau sa aadityah — ya esha etasminmandale purushah, yashchaayam dakshinekshan purushah; tavetaavanyo'nyasmin pratishtitau; rashmibhiresho'sminpratishtitah, praanairayamamushmin; sa yadotkramishyanbhavati shuddhamevaitanmandalam pashyati; nainamete rashmayah pratyaayanti

That which is Truth is the sun — the being in the solar orb and the being in the right eye. These two rest on each other. The solar being is established in the eye through rays, and the eye-being in the sun through the vital forces. When one is about to depart from the body, one sees the sun's orb clear and pure; those rays no longer come back to him.

वह जो सत्य है, वही यह आदित्य है — जो पुरुष इस सूर्यमण्डल में है और जो दक्षिण नेत्र में है। ये दोनों परस्पर एक-दूसरे में प्रतिष्ठित हैं। सूर्य-पुरुष नेत्र-पुरुष में रश्मियों के द्वारा प्रतिष्ठित है, और नेत्र-पुरुष सूर्य-पुरुष में प्राणों के द्वारा। जब साधक देहत्याग करने वाला होता है, तब वह इस मण्डल को शुद्ध रूप में देखता है; ये रश्मियाँ फिर उसकी ओर नहीं लौटतीं।
