Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.22

पर्जन्यो वाव गौतमाग्निः; तस्य वायुरेव समित्, अभ्रं धूमः, विद्युदर्चिः, अशनिरङ्गाराः, ह्रादुनयो विस्फुलिङ्गाः; तस्मिन्नेतस्मिन्नग्नौ देवाः सोमं राजानं जुह्वति; तस्या आहुतेर्वृष्टिः सम्भवति ॥

parjanyo vaava gautamaagnih; tasya vaayureva samit, abhram dhuumah, vidyudarchiih, ashanirangaaraah, hraadunayo visphullingaah; tasminnetasminagnau devaah somam raajaanam juhvati; tasyaa aahutervrshtih sambhavati

The second fire is the rain-cloud, O Gautama. The wind is its fuel, the cloud its smoke, lightning its flame, the thunderbolt its embers, and the rumblings of thunder its sparks. In this fire the gods offer King Soma. From that offering, rain arises.

हे गौतम! दूसरा अग्नि पर्जन्य (वर्षा-मेघ) है। वायु उसकी समिधा है, अभ्र (मेघ) धूम, विद्युत् ज्वाला, अशनि (वज्र) अंगार, और गर्जन-ध्वनियाँ विस्फुलिङ्ग हैं। उस अग्नि में देव सोम राजा की आहुति देते हैं। उस आहुति से वृष्टि उत्पन्न होती है।
