Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.28

तद्य इत्थं विदुः, ये चेमेऽरण्ये श्रद्धां सत्यमुपासते, तेऽर्चिषमभिसम्भवन्ति; अर्चिषोऽहः, अह्न आपूर्यमाणपक्शम्, आपूर्यमाणपक्शाद्यान् षण्मासानुदङ्ङादित्य एति; मासेभ्यो देवलोकम्, देवलोकादादित्यम्, आदित्याद्वैद्युतम्; तान् वैद्युतान् पुरुषो मानसो ऐत्य ब्रह्मलोकान् गमयति; ते तेषु ब्रह्मलोकेषु पराः परावतो वसन्ति; तेषां न पुनरावृत्तिः ॥

tadya ittham viduh, ye chemearanye shraddhaam satyamupaasate, te'rchishamabhisambhavanti; archisho'hah, ahna aapuuryamaanapaksham, aapuuryamaanapakshaadyaan shanmaasaanudanngaaditya eti; maasebhyo devalokam, devalokaadaadityam, aadityaadvaidyutam; taan vaidyutaan purusho maanaso aitya brahmalokaan gamayati; te teshu brahmalokheshu paraah paraavato vasanti; teshaam na punaraavritih

Those who know this, and those who in the forest meditate on faith and truth, pass into the flame. From the flame into the day, from the day into the bright fortnight, from the bright fortnight into the six months when the sun travels northward, from those months into the world of the gods, from the world of the gods into the sun, from the sun into the region of lightning. A being of the mind comes to those regions of lightning and leads them to the worlds of Brahman. In those worlds of Brahman they dwell for the remotest of times. For them there is no return.

जो ऐसा जानते हैं, और जो वन में श्रद्धा-सत्य की उपासना करते हैं, वे अर्चि (ज्वाला) में पहुँचते हैं। अर्चि से दिन में, दिन से शुक्लपक्ष में, शुक्लपक्ष से उत्तरायण के छह मासों में, मासों से देवलोक में, देवलोक से आदित्य में, आदित्य से वैद्युत-लोक में पहुँचते हैं। वहाँ एक मानस-पुरुष आकर उन्हें ब्रह्मलोकों में पहुँचा देता है। उन ब्रह्मलोकों में वे परम-दूर तक निवास करते हैं — उनकी पुनरावृत्ति नहीं होती।
