Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.30

अथ य एतौ पथौ न विदुस्ते कीटाः पतङ्गा यदिदं दन्दशूकम् ॥

atha ya etau pathau na viduste kiitaah patangaa yadidaam dandashukam

But those who do not know these two paths become insects, moths, and whatever there is here that bites.

किन्तु जो इन दोनों मार्गों को नहीं जानते, वे कीट, पतंग और जो भी डंक मारने वाले प्राणी हैं — उन योनियों में जन्म लेते हैं।
