Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 6.32

मन्थं कुर्वीत — दधि मधु सम्मृज्य, एतद्वै सम्राट्, इत्याग्नाविष्णवान् गृहान्हरन्ति; तत्रैतत्साम गायत्यन्तरा; सम्राडसि विराडसि, सर्वस्मादिदं विशालम् — उदन्नमगमम् — इत्यासमाने ॥

One should prepare the Mantha offering, mixing curds with honey. 'This is the emperor,' they say, carrying offerings to the houses of Agni and Vishnu. There one sings the Saman in between: 'You are the emperor, you are the self-resplendent, all this is vast — I have risen above food.' Thus at the ceremony.

मन्थ बनाना चाहिए — दही और मधु को मिलाकर। ‘यह सम्राट् है’ — कहकर अग्नि और विष्णु के लिए घर ले जाते हैं। उस समय बीच में यह साम-गान करते हैं — ‘तू सम्राट् है, तू विराट् है; यह सब विशाल है — मैंने अन्न को पार कर लिया।’ — ऐसा यज्ञ-स्थल में।
