Chandogya Upanishad
Sanskrit · Upanishad · ~800-500 BCE
The Chandogya Upanishad belongs to the Samaveda and is one of the largest and oldest Upanishads. Across eight chapters (Prapathakas), it contains foundational teachings including 'Tat Tvam Asi' (Thou Art That) — one of the four Mahavakyas — the meditation on Om, the doctrine of the five fires, and Sanatkumara's teaching on the Infinite (Bhuma). Prapathakas 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 are complete; Prapathakas 1, 2, 6 contain curated key verses pending full compilation.
