Chandogya Upanishad 1.15

अथ ह मन उद्गीथमुपासांचक्रिरे तद्धासुराः पाप्मना विविधुस्तस्मात्तेनोभयꣳ संकल्पते संकल्पनीयं चासंकल्पनीयं च पाप्मना ह्येतद्विद्धम् ॥ ६ ॥

1.2.6 — atha ha mana udgithamupasamchakrire taddhasurah papmana vividhustasmattenobhayam samkalpate samkalpaniyam chasamkalpaniyam cha papmana hyetadviddham || 6 ||

Then they meditated on the udgîtha (Om) as the mind, but the Asuras pierced it with evil. Therefore we conceive both what should be conceived and what should not be conceived. For the mind is pierced by evil.

फिर उन्होंने मन की उद्गीथ-रूप में उपासना की; असुरों ने उसे पाप से विद्ध कर दिया। इसीलिए मनुष्य संकल्पनीय और असंकल्पनीय — दोनों का संकल्प करता है; क्योंकि मन पाप से विद्ध हो चुका है।
