Chandogya Upanishad 1.23

आगाता ह वै कामानां भवति य एतदेवं विद्वानक्षरमुद्गीथमुपास्त इत्यध्यात्मम् ॥ १४ ॥

1.2.14 — aagata ha vai kamanam bhavati ya etadevam vidvanaksharamudgithamupasta ityadhyatmam || 14 ||

He who knows this, and meditates on the syllable Om (the imperishable udgîtha) as the breath of life in the mouth, he obtains all wishes by singing. So much for the udgîtha (Om) as meditated on with reference to the body.

जो इस प्रकार जानकर उद्गीथ रूपी इस अक्षर की उपासना करता है, वह गायन-मात्र से कामनाओं का आगाता (प्राप्त-करानेवाला) हो जाता है। — इतना अध्यात्म-विषयक।
