Chandogya Upanishad 1.85

एवमेव प्रतिहर्तारमुवाच प्रतिहर्तर्या देवता प्रतिहारमन्वायत्ता तां चेदविद्वान्प्रतिहरिष्यसि मूर्धा ते विपतिष्यतीति ते ह समारतास्तूष्णीमासांचक्रिरे ॥ ११ ॥

1.10.11 — evameva pratihartaramuvacha pratihartarya devata pratiharamanvayatta tam chedavidvanpratiharishyasi murdha te vipatishyatiti te ha samaratastushnimasamchakrire || 11 ||

In the same manner he addressed the Pratihartri; 'Pratihartri, if you, without knowing the deity which belongs to the pratihâra (the hymns of the Pratihartri), are going to sing it, your head will fall off.'

और प्रतिहर्ता से कहा — 'हे प्रतिहर्ता, जो देवता प्रतिहार से जुड़ा है — यदि तू उसे न जानकर प्रतिहार करेगा, तो तेरा मूर्धा गिर जाएगा।' तब वे तीनों भयभीत होकर अपने-अपने कर्म से विरत होकर मौन बैठ गए।
