Chandogya Upanishad 2.23
अथ यत्प्रथमोदिते स प्रस्तावस्तदस्य मनुष्या३ अन्वायत्तास्तस्मात्ते प्रस्तुतिकामाः प्रशꣳसाकामाः प्रस्तावभाजिनो ह्येतस्य साम्नः ॥ ३ ॥
2.9.3 — atha yatprathamodite sa prastavastadasya manushya3 anvayattastasmatte prastutikamah prashamsakamah prastavabhajino hyetasya samnah || 3 ||
Now, when it is just after sunrise — that is a Prastava (Introductory Praise). Men are connected with this [part] of These are the names of the members of a sevenfold Saman chant. a The preceding words of this section are a recurrent stereotyped expression found also at i. 3. and ir 13. 4. it. Therefore they are desirous of praise (prastuti)> desirous of laudation. Truly, they are partakers in the Prastava of that Saman.
अब जो उदयकाल के तुरन्त बाद का रूप है, वह प्रस्ताव है; उस पर मनुष्य अनुवर्ती हैं — इसीलिए वे प्रस्तुति-कामी और प्रशंसा-कामी होते हैं; वे इस साम के प्रस्तावभाजी हैं।
