Chandogya Upanishad 2.34

आप्नोति हादित्यस्य जयं परो हास्यादित्यजयाज्जयो भवति य एतदेवं विद्वानात्मसंमितमतिमृत्यु सप्तविधꣳ सामोपास्ते सामोपास्ते ॥ ६ ॥

2.10.6 — aapnoti hadityasya jayam paro hasyadityajayajjayo bhavati ya etadevam vidvanatmasammitamatimrityu saptavidham samopaste samopaste || 6 ||

He obtains here the victory over the sun (death), and there is a higher victory than the victory over the sun for him, who knowing this meditates on the sevenfold Sâman as uniform in itself, which leads beyond death, yea, which leads beyond death.

वह आदित्य पर विजय प्राप्त करता है, और आदित्य-विजय से भी श्रेष्ठ विजय उसकी होती है — जो इसे इस प्रकार जानकर आत्मसम्मित, मृत्यु को पार कराने वाले सप्तविध साम की उपासना करता है, वह उपासना करता है।
