Chandogya Upanishad 2.54

स य एवमेतद्राजनं देवतासु प्रोतं वेदैतासामेव देवतानाꣳसलोकताꣳसर्ष्टिताꣳसायुज्यं गच्छति सर्वमायुरेति ज्योग्जीवति महान्प्रजया पशुभिर्भवति महान्कीर्त्या ब्राह्मणान्न निन्देत्तद्व्रतम् ॥ २ ॥

2.20.2 — sa ya evametadrajanam devatasu protam vedaitasameva devatanamsalokatamsarshtitamsayujyam gachchhati sarvamayureti jyogjivati mahanprajaya pashubhirbhavati mahankirtya brahmananna nindettadvratam || 2 ||

He who thus knows the Râgana, as interwoven in the deities, obtains the same world, the same happiness, the same company as the gods, he reaches the full life, he lives long, becomes great with children and cattle, great by fame. His rule is, 'Do not speak evil of the Brâhmanas.'

जो इस राजन-साम को देवताओं में अनुस्यूत जानता है, वह इन्हीं देवताओं की सलोकता, सार्ष्टिता (समान-ऐश्वर्य) और सायुज्य को प्राप्त करता है, पूर्ण आयु पाता है, दीर्घकाल जीता है, प्रजा और पशुओं से महान् होता है, कीर्ति से महान् होता है। 'ब्राह्मणों की निन्दा न करे' — यह उसका व्रत है।
