Chandogya Upanishad 2.60

अमृतत्वं देवेभ्य आगायानीत्यागायेत्स्वधां पितृभ्य आशां मनुष्येभ्यस्तृणोदकं पशुभ्यः स्वर्गं लोकं यजमानायान्नमात्मन आगायानीत्येतानि मनसा ध्यायन्नप्रमत्तः स्तुवीत ॥ २ ॥

2.22.2 — amritatvam devebhya aagayanityagayetsvadham pitribhya aasham manushyebhyastrinodakam pashubhyah svargam lokam yajamanayannamatmana aagayanityetani manasa dhyayannapramattah stuvita || 2 ||

'Let me obtain immortality for the gods by singing' — thus should one obtain with his singing, ' Let me obtain oblation for the fathers by singing, hope for men, grass and water for cattle, a heavenly world for the sacrificer, food for myseli (atman)' — one should sing the Stotra carefully, meditating these things in mind. The various sounds in the chant under the protection of different gods

'देवताओं के लिए मैं गान द्वारा अमृतत्व प्राप्त कराऊँ' — ऐसा कहकर गाए; 'पितरों के लिए स्वधा, मनुष्यों के लिए आशा, पशुओं के लिए घास और जल, यजमान के लिए स्वर्गलोक, और अपने लिए अन्न — इन्हें गान द्वारा प्राप्त कराऊँ' — इन सबका मन में ध्यान करते हुए, अप्रमत्त होकर स्तुति करे।
