Chandogya Upanishad 3.1

असौ वा आदित्यो देवमधु तस्य द्यौरेव तिरश्चीनवꣳशोऽन्तरिक्षमपूपो मरीचयः पुत्राः ॥ १ ॥

3.1.1 — asau va aadityo devamadhu tasya dyaureva tirashchinavamsho'ntarikshamapupo marichayah putrah || 1 ||

The sun is indeed the honey of the Devas. The heaven is the cross-beam (from which) the sky (hangs as) a hive, and the bright vapours are the eggs of the bees.

वह आदित्य ही देवताओं का मधु है; द्युलोक उसका तिर्यक् वंश (मधुमक्खी के छत्ते की आड़ी लकड़ी) है, अन्तरिक्ष छत्ते का अपूप है, और सूर्य की किरणें मधुमक्खियों के बच्चे हैं।
