Chandogya Upanishad 3.5

अथ येऽस्य दक्षिणा रश्मयस्ता एवास्य दक्षिणा मधुनाड्यो यजूꣳष्येव मधुकृतो यजुर्वेद एव पुष्पं ता अमृता आपः ॥ १ ॥

3.2.1 — atha ye'sya dakshina rashmayasta evasya dakshina madhunadyo yajumshyeva madhukrito yajurveda eva pushpam ta amrita aapah || 1 ||

The southern rays of the sun are the honey-cells on the right. The Yagus verses are the bees, the Yagur-veda sacrifice is the flower, the water (of the sacrificial libations) is the nectar (of the flower).

अब जो इसकी दक्षिण दिशा की किरणें हैं, वे ही इसकी दक्षिण मधुनाड़ियाँ हैं; यजु ही उनकी मधुमक्खियाँ हैं, यजुर्वेद-यज्ञ पुष्प है, और यज्ञ के जल अमृत रस हैं।
