Chandogya Upanishad 4.22

सत्यकामो ह जाबालो जबालां मातरमामन्त्रयाञ्चक्रे ब्रह्मचर्यं भवति विवत्स्यामि किङ्गोत्रोन्वहमस्मीति ॥ १ ॥

4.4.1 — satyakamo ha jabalo jabalam mataramamantrayanchakre brahmacharyam bhavati vivatsyami kingotronvahamasmiti || 1 ||

Satyakâma, the son of Gabâlâ, addressed his mother and said: 'I wish to become a Brahmakârin (religious student), mother. Of what family am I?'

सत्यकाम जाबाल ने अपनी माता जबाला को सम्बोधित करके कहा — 'हे मातृ! मैं ब्रह्मचर्य में निवास करना चाहता हूँ; मैं किस गोत्र का हूँ?'
