Chandogya Upanishad 4.63

अथ यदु चैवास्मिञ्छव्यं कुर्वन्ति यदि च नार्चिषमेवाभिसम्भवन्त्यर्चिषोऽहरह्न आपूर्यमाणपक्षमापूर्यमाणपक्षाद्यान्षडुदङ्ङेति मासाꣳस्तान्मासेभ्यः संवत्सरꣳ संवत्सरादादित्यमादित्याच्चन्द्रमसं चन्द्रमसो विद्युतं तत् पुरुषोऽमानवः ॥ ५ ॥

4.15.5 — atha yadu chaivasminchhavyam kurvanti yadi cha narchishamevabhisambhavantyarchisho'harahna aapuryamanapakshamapuryamanapakshadyanshadudanneti masamstanmasebhyah samvatsaram samvatsaradadityamadityachchandramasam chandramaso vidyutam tat purusho'manavah || 5 ||

'Now (if one who knows this, dies), whether people perform obsequies for him or no, he goes to light (arkis), from light to day, from day to the light half of the moon, from the light half of the moon to the six months during which the sun goes to the north, from the months to the year, from the year to the sun, from the sun to the moon, from the moon to the lightning. There is a person not human,

अब (ऐसे ज्ञानी के) शव के साथ चाहे अन्त्येष्टि-कर्म किए जायें या न किए जायें — वह अर्चि (ज्वाला) को प्राप्त होता है; अर्चि से दिन को, दिन से शुक्ल-पक्ष को, शुक्ल-पक्ष से उत्तरायण के छह मासों को, मासों से संवत्सर को, संवत्सर से आदित्य को, आदित्य से चन्द्रमा को, चन्द्रमा से विद्युत् को प्राप्त होता है; वहाँ एक अमानव पुरुष है —
