Chandogya Upanishad 4.76

तद्यथा लवणेन सुवर्णꣳ सन्दध्यात्सुवर्णेन रजतꣳ रजतेन त्रपु त्रपुणा सीसꣳ सीसेन लोहं लोहेन दारु दारु चर्मणा ॥ ७ ॥

4.17.7 — tadyatha lavanena suvarnam sandadhyatsuvarnena rajatam rajatena trapu trapuna sisam sisena loham lohena daru daru charmana || 7 ||

So, as one would mend gold with borax-salt, silver with gold, tin with silver, lead with tin, iron with lead, wood with iron or with leather, [8] even so with the power of those worlds, of those divinities, of that triple knowledge one mends the injury to the sacrifice. Verily, that sacrifice is healed in which there is a Brahman priest who knows this.

जैसे कोई सुहागे से सोना, सोने से चाँदी, चाँदी से टीन, टीन से सीसा, सीसे से लोहा, लोहे से काठ और काठ को चमड़े से जोड़ता है — (वैसे ही यज्ञ जोड़ा जाता है)।
