Chandogya Upanishad 5.28

अथानु किमनुशिष्ठोऽवोचथा यो हीमानि न विद्यात्कथँ सोऽनुशिष्टो ब्रुवीतेति स हायस्तः पितुरर्धमेयाय तँ होवाचाननुशिष्य वाव किल मा भगवानब्रवीदनु त्वाशिषमिति ॥ ४ ॥

5.3.4 — athanu kimanushishtho'vochatha yo himani na vidyatkathan so'nushishto bruviteti sa hayastah piturardhameyaya tan hovachananushishya vava kila ma bhagavanabravidanu tvashishamiti || 4 ||

'Then why did you say (you had been) instructed? How could anybody who did not know these things say that he had been instructed?' Then the boy went back sorrowful to the place of his father, and said: 'Though you had not instructed me, Sir, you said you had instructed me.

'फिर तुम यह कैसे कहते हो कि तुम्हें शिक्षा दी गयी है? जो इन्हें नहीं जानता, वह कैसे शिक्षित कहला सकता है?' तब वह कुमार दुःखी होकर पिता के पास गया और बोला — 'भगवन्, बिना शिक्षा दिये ही आपने कहा कि आपने मुझे पढ़ा दिया।'
