Chandogya Upanishad 5.29

पञ्च मा राजन्यबन्धुः प्रश्नानप्राक्षीत्तेषां नैकञ्चनाशकं विवक्तुमिति स होवाच यथा मा त्वं तदैतानवदो यथाहमेषां नैकञ्चन वेद यद्यहमिमानवेदिष्यं कथं ते नावक्ष्यमिति ॥ ५ ॥

5.3.5 — pancha ma rajanyabandhuh prashnanaprakshittesham naikanchanashakam vivaktumiti sa hovacha yatha ma tvam tadaitanavado yathahamesham naikanchana veda yadyahamimanavedishyam katham te navakshyamiti || 5 ||

'That fellow of a Râganya asked me five questions, and I could not answer one of them.' The father said: 'As you have told me these questions of his, I do not know any one of them. If I knew these questions, how should I not have told you?

'उस राजन्यबन्धु ने मुझसे पाँच प्रश्न किये, उनमें से एक का भी उत्तर मैं नहीं दे सका।' पिता ने कहा — 'जैसे तुमने मुझसे उन्हें कहा, वैसा ही — मैं भी उनमें से किसी एक को नहीं जानता। यदि मैं उन्हें जानता, तो तुमसे क्यों न कहता?'
