Chandogya Upanishad 6.27

दध्नः सोम्य मथ्यमानस्य योऽणिमा स उर्ध्वः समुदीषति तत्सर्पिर्भवति ॥ १ ॥

6.6.1 — dadhnah somya mathyamanasya yo'nima sa urdhvah samudishati tatsarpirbhavati || 1 ||

'That which is the subtile portion of curds, when churned, rises upwards, and becomes butter.

'हे सौम्य, मथे जाते हुए दधि का जो सूक्ष्मतम भाग है वह ऊपर उठता है — वही घृत (सर्पि) बनता है।'
