Chandogya Upanishad 6.30

तेजसः सोम्याश्यमानस्य योऽणिमा स उर्ध्वः समुदीषति सा वाग्भवति ॥ ४ ॥

6.6.4 — tejasah somyashyamanasya yo'nima sa urdhvah samudishati sa vagbhavati || 4 ||

'That which is the subtile portion of fire, when consumed, rises upwards, and becomes speech.

'हे सौम्य, खाए जाते हुए तेज का जो सूक्ष्मतम भाग है वह ऊपर उठता है — वही वाक् बनती है।'
