Chandogya Upanishad 7.50

तस्य ह वा एतस्यैवं पश्यत एवं मन्वानस्यैवं विजानत आत्मतः प्राण आत्मत आशात्मतः स्मर आत्मत आकाश आत्मतस्तेज आत्मत आप आत्मत आविर्भावतिरोभावावात्मतोऽन्नमात्मतो बलमात्मतो विज्ञानमात्मतो ध्यानमात्मतश्चित्तमात्मतः सङ्कल्प आत्मतो मन आत्मतो वागात्मतो नामात्मतो मन्त्रा आत्मतः कर्माण्यात्मत एवेदँसर्वमिति ॥ १ ॥

7.26.1 — tasya ha va etasyaivam pashyata evam manvanasyaivam vijanata aatmatah prana aatmata aashatmatah smara aatmata aakasha aatmatasteja aatmata aapa aatmata aavirbhavatirobhavavatmato'nnamatmato balamatmato vijnanamatmato dhyanamatmatashchittamatmatah sankalpa aatmato mana aatmato vagatmato namatmato mantra aatmatah karmanyatmata evedansarvamiti || 1 ||

'To him who sees, perceives, and understands this the spirit (prâna) springs from the Self, hope springs from the Self, memory springs from the Self; so do ether, fire, water, appearance and disappearance, food, power, understanding, reflection, consideration, will, mind, speech, names, sacred hymns, and sacrifices—aye, all this springs from the Self.

'ऐसा देखने, मानने, जानने वाले के लिये आत्मा से ही प्राण, आत्मा से आशा, आत्मा से स्मृति, आत्मा से आकाश, आत्मा से तेज, आत्मा से जल, आत्मा से आविर्भाव-तिरोभाव (प्रकट-अप्रकट होना), आत्मा से अन्न, आत्मा से बल, आत्मा से विज्ञान, आत्मा से ध्यान, आत्मा से चित्त, आत्मा से संकल्प, आत्मा से मन, आत्मा से वाणी, आत्मा से नाम, आत्मा से मन्त्र, आत्मा से कर्म — आत्मा से ही यह सब है।'
