Chandogya Upanishad 8.32

अथ यत्रैतदबलिमानं नीतो भवति तमभित आसीना आहुर्जानासि मां जानासि मामिति स यावदस्माच्छरीरादनुत्क्रान्तो भवति तावज्जानाति ॥ ४ ॥

8.6.4 — atha yatraitadabalimanam nito bhavati tamabhita aasina aahurjanasi mam janasi mamiti sa yavadasmachchhariradanutkranto bhavati tavajjanati || 4 ||

And when a man falls ill, then those who sit round him, say, 'Do you know me? Do you know me?' As long as he has not departed from this body, he knows them.

'जब यह (मनुष्य) अबलिमान् (शक्ति-हीन) हो जाता है, तब उसके चारों ओर बैठे लोग कहते हैं — 'मुझे पहचानते हो? मुझे पहचानते हो?' जब तक वह इस शरीर से उत्क्रान्त नहीं होता, तब तक पहचानता है।'
