Chandogya Upanishad 8.58

अथ यो वेदेदं मन्वानीति सात्मा मनोऽस्य दैवं चक्षुः स वा एष एतेन दैवेन चक्षुषा मनसैतान्कामान्पश्यन्रमते य एते ब्रह्मलोके ॥ ५ ॥

8.12.5 — atha yo vededam manvaniti satma mano'sya daivam chakshuh sa va esha etena daivena chakshusha manasaitankamanpashyanramate ya ete brahmaloke || 5 ||

'He who knows, let me think this, he is the Self, the mind is his divine eye. He, the Self, seeing these pleasures (which to others are hidden like a buried treasure of gold) through his divine eye, i. e. the mind, rejoices.

'जो जानता है 'मनन करूँ' — वह आत्मा है; मन उसका दैव चक्षु (दिव्य दृष्टि) है। वह इस दैव मन-रूपी चक्षु से उन सब कामनाओं को देखकर रमण करता है, जो इस ब्रह्म-लोक में हैं।'
