Dhammapada 12.10

अत्तदत्थं परत्थेन बहुनापि न हापये | अत्तदत्थमभिञ्ञाय सदत्थपसुतो सिया ॥

attadattham paratthena bahunapi na hapaye | attadatthamabhinnaya sadatthapasuto siya ||

One should not neglect one's own welfare for the sake of another, however great. Clearly understanding one's own welfare, one should be intent upon one's own good.

दूसरे के कितने ही महान् अर्थ के लिए भी अपने अर्थ (हित) को न गँवाए। अपने अर्थ को भली-भाँति जानकर सदा अपने हित में लगा रहे।
