Dhammapada 12.4

अत्ता हि अत्तनो नाथो को हि नाथो परो सिया | अत्तना हि सुदन्तेन नाथं लभति दुल्लभं ॥

atta hi attano natho ko hi natho paro siya | attana hi sudantena natham labhati dullabham ||

The self is the master of the self. Who else could be the master? With the self well-tamed, one gains a master that is hard to find.

आत्मा ही आत्मा का नाथ है; दूसरा कौन नाथ हो सकता है? भली-भाँति दमित आत्मा से वह दुर्लभ नाथ प्राप्त होता है।
