Dhammapada 18.8

मलित्थिया दुच्चरितं, मच्छेरं ददतो मलं। मला वे पापका धम्मा, अस्मिं लोके परम्हि च॥

malitthiya duccaritam, macceram dadato malam; mala ve papaka dhamma, asmim loke paramhi ca.

Misconduct is the stain of a woman; stinginess is the stain of a giver. Evil things are stains indeed, in this world and the next.

स्त्री का मैल दुराचार है; देने वाले का मैल कंजूसी है। बुरे धर्म (पापकर्म) इस लोक में और परलोक में सचमुच मैल हैं।
