Dhammapada 19.10

यो च समेति पापानि, अणुं थूलानि सब्बसो। समितत्ता हि पापानं, समणो ति पवुच्चति॥

yo ca sameti papani, anum thulani sabbaso; samitatta hi papanam, samano ti pavuccati.

One who quiets all evil, whether small or great, is called an ascetic because of having quieted all evil.

जो छोटे-बड़े सभी पापों को शांत करता है — पापों के शांत होने से वह 'श्रमण' कहलाता है।
