Dhammapada 22.6

कुसो यथा दुग्गहितो हत्थमेवानुकन्तति। सामञ्ञं दुप्परामट्ठं निरयायूपकड्ढति॥

kuso yatha duggahito hattham evanukantati, samannam dupparamattham nirayayupakaḍḍhati.

Just as kusa grass wrongly grasped cuts the hand, so the ascetic life wrongly practiced drags one to a state of woe.

जैसे कुश घास गलत प्रकार से पकड़ी जाने पर हाथ को ही काट देती है, वैसे ही दुष्प्रकार से आचरित श्रमण-धर्म साधक को निरय की ओर खींच ले जाता है।
