Dhammapada 26.17

अक्कोसं वधबन्धञ्च अदुट्ठो यो तितिक्खति। खन्तीबलं बलानीकं तमहं ब्रूमि ब्राह्मणं॥

akkosam vadhabandhanca aduttho yo titikkhati, khantibalam balanikkam tamaham brumi brahmanam.

One who without anger endures abuse, beating, and binding, whose power is patience, whose army is strength — that one I call a brahmana.

जो आक्रोश, वध और बंधन को बिना द्वेष के सहन कर लेता है, जिसका बल क्षांति है और जिसकी सेना भी बल है — उसे मैं ब्राह्मण कहता हूँ।
