Dhammapada 26.21

गम्भीरपञ्ञं मेधाविं मग्गामग्गस्स कोविदं। उत्तमत्थं अनुप्पत्तं तमहं ब्रूमि ब्राह्मणं॥

gambhirapannam medhavim maggamaggassa kovidam, uttamattham anuppattam tamaham brumi brahmanam.

One of profound wisdom, intelligent, skilled in discerning the right and wrong paths, who has reached the highest goal — that one I call a brahmana.

जो गंभीर-प्रज्ञ, मेधावी, मार्ग-अमार्ग के विवेक में कुशल है, और जिसने उत्तम अर्थ को प्राप्त कर लिया है — उसे मैं ब्राह्मण कहता हूँ।
