Dhammapada 26.22

असंसट्ठं गहट्ठेहि अनागारेहि चूभयं। अनोकसारिमप्पिच्छं तमहं ब्रूमि ब्राह्मणं॥

asamsattham gahatthehi anagarehi cubhayam, anokasarimappicchham tamaham brumi brahmanam.

One who is not intimate with householders or with the homeless, who wanders without a home, with few desires — that one I call a brahmana.

जो गृहस्थों और अनगारिकों — दोनों से असंसृष्ट है, जो अनिकेत होकर विचरता है और अल्प-इच्छ है — उसे मैं ब्राह्मण कहता हूँ।
