Dhammapada 26.41

पुब्बेनिवासं यो वेदि सग्गापायञ्च पस्सति। अथो जातिक्खयं पत्तो अभिञ्ञावोसितो मुनि। सब्बवोसितवोसानं तमहं ब्रूमि ब्राह्मणं॥

pubbeniivasam yo vedi saggapayanca passati, atho jatikkhayam patto abhinnnavosito muni, sabbavositavosanam tamaham brumi brahmanam.

One who knows one's former abodes, who sees the heavens and the states of woe, who has reached the destruction of birth, who is a sage perfected in higher knowledge, who has accomplished all that is to be accomplished — that one I call a brahmana.

जो अपने पूर्व-निवासों को जानता है, जो स्वर्ग और अपायों को देखता है, जो जन्म के क्षय को प्राप्त कर चुका है, जो अभिज्ञा से सिद्ध मुनि है, और जिसने सब करने योग्य पूर्ण कर लिया है — उसे मैं ब्राह्मण कहता हूँ।
