Dhammapada 4.13

अप्पमत्तो अयं गन्धो यायं तगरचन्दनी | यो च सीलवतं गन्धो वाति देवेसु उत्तमो ॥

appamatto ayam gandho yayam tagarachandani | yo cha silavatam gandho vati devesu uttamo ||

Slight is this fragrance of tagara and sandalwood. But the fragrance of the virtuous is supreme, wafting even among the gods.

यह तगर-चन्दन की गन्ध तो अल्प है; परन्तु शीलवानों की जो गन्ध है, वह देवताओं में भी उत्तम रूप से फैलती है।
