Dhammapada 9.5

भद्रोपि पस्सति पापं यावा भद्रं न पच्चति | यदा च पच्चति भद्रं अथ भद्रो भद्रानि पस्सति ॥

bhadropi passati papam yava bhadram na pachchati | yada cha pachchati bhadram atha bhadro bhadrani passati ||

Even a good person sees evil as long as the good has not ripened. But when the good ripens, then the good person sees the good results.

भद्र (पुण्यात्मा) भी तब तक पाप ही देखता है जब तक उसका भद्र पक नहीं जाता। परन्तु जब भद्र पक जाता है, तब भद्र-पुरुष भद्र के (फल) को देखता है।
