Guru Granth Sahib 2.34

ਏ ਮਨ ਮੇਰਿਆ ਤੂ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਵਾਸੁ ॥ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਤਮ ॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖ ਬਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ਸਭ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੈ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥ ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਵਾਸੁ ॥੩੪॥

e man meriaa too raam naam jap vaas. raam naam jap vaas sabh te ootam. naam japat sukh basai man aai sabh dookh binaasai. gur poore te naam paaeeai naanak gun gaavai. kahai naanak mann mere raam naam jap vaas.

O my mind, chant the Lord's Name and dwell in it. Chanting the Lord's Name and dwelling in it is the highest of all. Chanting the Name, peace comes to abide in the mind and all sorrows are destroyed. From the perfect Guru, the Name is obtained — Nanak sings His praises. Says Nanak, O my mind, chant the Lord's Name and dwell in it.

हे मेरे मन, तू राम-नाम जप, उसी में बस। राम-नाम जप कर बसना सब से उत्तम है। नाम जपने से सुख मन में आकर बसता है, सब दुख नष्ट होते हैं। पूरे गुरु से नाम मिलता है — नानक उसके गुण गाता है। नानक कहते हैं — हे मेरे मन, राम-नाम जप, उसी में बस।
